Coffin Mtn & Bachelor Mountain in the Old Cascades 22 July 2013

These hikes were quintessential view hikes right smack dab in the middle of all the mountains.  You could see everywhere from Coffin Mtn.  The ranger said the snow melt was weeks early this year - usually this time of year there is still a snow field on the way up.  Not this year.  It was hot, hot hot.  Coffin has many views all the way up, Bachelor a little less so.  But both are pretty.  Road there is a 25 min drive after getting off the hwy but it isn't bad.

the view began on the road up!

The trail at the end of Bachelor is way steeper than we expected.  When we saw where we were going, we almost turned around.  We were pooped from the heat and sun.
