Patjens Lakes 6 July 2012

Patjens Lakes is in the Mt Washington wilderness area off of Hwy 20 near the Santiam Pass.  Most of the hike is through burnt forest and you can glimpse the tops of Mt Jefferson, Three Fingered Jack, Mt Washington, the three Sisters...here and there.  When you do come in to the forest, it is lush and pretty - but kind of mosquito-y.  The view of Mt Washington from Big Lake is nice - and you could drive right up to it.  Big Lake allows motor boats so once you get near that area, it is pretty civilized.
